This November we are celebrating Tom Brannon’s 25th Anniversary at Brannon Honda. While Silver is the traditional gift when it comes to a 25 year anniversary, Brannon Honda had something else in mind. Since this November also marks Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, Brannon Honda is going completely Purple all month long. Help us celebrate Tom Brannon by signing up for the PurpleStride Walk this April and joining Team Brannon!
The Purple Anniversary
While 25 years is typically celebrated with silver, Tom Brannon, a pancreatic cancer survivor, had a different idea in mind. That is why all November long, Brannon Honda is celebrating Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. November is the time of the year when Pancreatic Cancer Survivors come out to tell their story, raise money for research, and make people aware of the warning signs. Through organizations like the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, we are fighting to help double the survival rate of those with Pancreatic Cancer by the year 2020. Join Brannon Honda this November as we help find a cure for this terrible disease.
Pancreatic Cancer is the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, killing more annually than even breast cancer. Over 145 Americans are diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer every single day. Tom Brannon is a proud survivor of Pancreatic Cancer and is now focused on helping bring awareness to the disease and the warning signs. Tom Brannon believes the best thing you can do to help fight Pancreatic Cancer is to be proactive and listen to your physician. Take a look at just a few of the warning signs to be on the lookout for:
- Abdominal or Mid-Back Pain
- Loss of appetite
- Weight Loss
- Recent-Onset Diabetes
There are also a number of risk factors involved with Pancreatic Cancer including Family History, Obesity, a history of Smoking, Gender, Age, and Pancreatitis. If you are showing any of these symptoms please contact your physician immediately.
