Birmingham has enjoyed a thriving craft beer scene for quite some time, but it just got a little bit better. Back Forty Birmingham at Sloss Docks opened a few months ago, and it’s already a hit. From the tasty brews and food to the fun atmosphere and cool events, this is becoming the go-to place to hang out with friends and family.
Brews And Food
The Back Forty Beer Co. is one of the top brewers in Alabama, and you’re probably familiar with some of its most popular beers, such as Naked Pig and Truck Stop Honey. Those beers will be at the brewery, but you’ll also get to try some new brews. The brewers will experiment with different styles of beer, and you can try them here. You won’t be able to find these beers anywhere else, so if you want to see what all the fuss is about, you have to go to Back Forty Birmingham at Sloss Docks.
You’ll also have to come here if you to chow down on creative American pub food courtesy of executive chef Russ Bodner. You will love the way he turns local ingredients into delicious dishes.
The Atmosphere
This is the perfect place to kick back and relax. You can hang out in the quarter-acre beer garden and watch the trains roll in or chill with your pup on the porch while you sip your brew. Oh, and be sure to try your hand at ping pong or corn hole. There always seems to be a friendly competition going on, and you can get in on the fun.

The Events
You also can’t beat the events at this new brewery. It has an assortment of events each month, ranging from dog trick contests to trivia nights. You can even do some yoga at the brewery. Keep an eye on the upcoming events so you’ll be ready when something you like rolls around.
