If you’re looking for an extra-special date night to kick off the new decade, look no further than the 5th Annual Lyric Masquerade Ball! The ball benefits the historic Alabama and Lyric Theatres and is put on by their junior boards.
2020 Lyric Masquerade Ball
This year’s ball will feature the Matthew Devine Band playing New Orleans Jazz, heavy hors d’oeuvres from your favorite Birmingham restaurants, a silent auction, and an open bar with tasting from Cooper’s Craft and Redmont Distilling Co. The dress code is black tie, and masquerade apparel and masks are encouraged! Some of the restaurants supplying the tasty treats at this year’s masquerade ball are:

You’ll be able to roam The Lyric Theatre freely during the ball, and see the beautiful architecture and details up close. Should you choose to purchase a VIP ticket, you’ll also go on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of The Lyric, learn the full history of its renovations, and receive two tickets to the Alabama Theatre 2020 Film Series.
The fun doesn’t have to stop when the ball is over – you can head to Dread River Distilling Co. for the official masquerade ball after party, where a portion of food and beverage sales will benefit the Lyric and Alabama Theatres.
Theatre Junior Boards
The Junior Boards for the Alabama and Lyric Theatres were created to help preservation efforts of the beautiful historic theatres and raise awareness among younger generations about the beautiful venues. The annual Lyric Masquerade Ball is a huge fundraiser for the boards, and all of the proceeds go to benefit the theatres.
