How Long and Where
Before you even head out on Birmingham’s roads for your test drive, you want to be sure to plan it out to some extent. Aim to drive over every type of road within the range, including highway and city driving, and drive the car for at least a half hour. Most dealerships will use test drives to make a sale, so they will not have an issue with these requirements.
Basic Things to Notice
Whether the Honda you are test-driving is new or used, you want to make sure you are comfortable while driving. You should be able to find a good adjustment for the seat and steering wheel and easily enter and exit the car. Make sure that you can reach all of the controls on the instrument panel and read all gauges. Don’t forget to test out the backseat of the car during the test drive as well, particularly if you have children or regularly drive friends around.
While Driving
Make sure that you feel comfortable maneuvering the car in all situations. Select a test drive route that includes both left and right turns. Try to find a large, empty space to get a feel for how tight of a turn you can make as well as the stopping distance of the vehicle. Don’t forget to check for blind spots and make sure you can easily park and drive in reverse as well.
Now that you know what to look for on a test drive, you are ready to head to Brannon Honda in Birmingham, Alabama, and try out some of the great Honda vehicles.
