Honda does more in the automotive world than just sell cars. It also works to encourage people to celebrate their passions, such as riding ATVs, side-by-sides, dirt bikes, and street bikes. To help with this, it reopened the Honda Ride Education Center. This Irving, Texas, center had its official reopening ceremony, including a ribbon cutting, at the end of September.
Classes and Training
At the Honda Rider Education Center, students can attend rider training as well as classroom training. The center relies on the curriculum from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for both dirt bike classes and on-road classes. The ATV classes follow the curriculum from the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America. Side-by-side training will rely on the curriculum from the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association.
Making It Affordable
To encourage more riders to attend classes and training, the Department of Motor Vehicles in Texas will waive the test requirements for both riding and written tests if an applicant for a motorcycle license is at least 18 and has finished the 2-day-long Basic Rider Course. This helps save time. At the same time, Honda reimburses drivers $75 worth of their class tuition. If you buy a new Honda ATV, you will have the entire cost of your ATV Rider Course reimbursed.
Other Learning Opportunities
Another key area of the Honda Rider Education Center is the Environmental Learning Center. This community resource encourages the responsible use of land by teaching attendees about the varied ecology in Texas.
The team at Brannon Honda in Birmingham, Alabama, can give you more information on Honda ATVs and the Honda Rider Education Center. They will be happy to help you arrange a visit to the center for one of the courses.
