Whether you have attended previous festivals or want to know what the fuss is about, get ready for the 25th Annual Whistle Stop Festival. It is right in historic Irondale, not too far from Birmingham, so there is no reason to miss the fun.
Time and Date
The event is almost the full day on Saturday, Sept. 24. It starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until 7 p.m. Stick around for the fireworks at 9 p.m. before driving back to Birmingham.
Fun Activities and Great Food
This annual festival is your chance to stop by over a hundred different vendors. Get a snack at one of the food stands or buy a drink. Most of the vendors are selling art or crafts, so you can explore and do some window-shopping before choosing which items to buy for you or your loved ones. There is live entertainment on the Main Stage right on First Avenue South starting at 10 a.m. and running throughout the day. There are plenty of children’s activities, as well. The event concludes with a vibrant fireworks display you won’t want to miss that starts at 9 p.m.
You can also visit the Historic Irondale Café during the day. If you don’t want to walk between the main festival on the south side of Irondale and the cafe along First Avenue North, there will be a free shuttle.
Figure out which vehicle you want to drive to Irondale with some help from the team at Brannon Honda. Since it is only about 15 minutes from Birmingham, Alabama, to Irondale, there is no excuse to miss the festivities.
