Summer is many people’s favorite season – the extra daylight, the warmth, and the nostalgia of the season are just a few of the reasons to look forward to summer. But, the heat we all crave during the chill of winter can quickly go from “yay” to “nay” when it heats up the interior of your car while you run errands or sit at your desk at work. This summer, beat the heat with these ten tips to keep your car as cool as possible.
1. Use A Sunshade Or Window Visor
You can purchase sunshades/window visors for your front and rear windows to block sunlight from seeping into your car and heating things up.
2. Use A Dash Cover
A cloth dash cover will keep your dashboard from getting too hot to touch while you’re out. If you have anything mounted to the dash like a cellphone mount, it can also help the glue from unsticking and melting in the heat.
3. Cover Your Steering Wheel
Using a hand towel over your steering wheel while you aren’t in the car will help keep the surface cool when you get back in your car.
4. Park In The Shade
When possible, choose a shady spot to park your car in the summer. The shade will help filter out light from entering and warming your car.
5. Keep Objects Out Of The Sun
Keeping objects you use on a regular basis under a towel or in a built-in storage compartment will keep them far cooler than leaving them exposed to the sunlight.
6. Park In A Garage
When you can, parking in a garage will be even more beneficial. The constant shade will help keep your car about as cool as is possible.
7. Crack Your Windows
Though leaving your windows open would be a hazard, keeping thems slightly cracked will allow air to be vented, resulting in a cooler car.
8. Purchase A Solar-Powered Fan
Solar-powered fans provide constant airflow and expel hot air from your car and are one of the best ways to keep the cabin temperature cooler on a hot day.
9. Cover Your Seats
Using blankets or towels to cover your seats while you’re away, especially if you have dark leather upholstery, will save you a lot of pain later on.

Keep cool this summer!
