Then, you’ll know if you can keep on driving or if you need help. That way, you will be less likely to break down on the road.

Grinding While Braking

If you push on the brake pedal and your brakes make a grinding sound back at you, you’ve got a problem on your hands. Don’t worry, though. It’s not a major issue. You just need to have someone look at your brake pads, calipers, and rotors. Once the mechanic fixes the problem, you’ll be back in business.

Screeching During Braking

Have you noticed some squealing and screeching while braking? That’s a sign that you need some new brake pads. You also might need rotor resurfacing or new rotors all together. Don’t wait for the brakes to go out completely. Get it fixed quickly.

Growling, Humming, and Roaring

Growling, humming, and roaring aren’t normal noises when you’re driving down the road. If you notice these sounds, you need new tires or some new wheel bearings. Then, you’ll be good to go once again.

Chirping and Squealing

Birds chirp. Cars should not. If chirping and squealing noises are coming from under the hood, you likely need to have your drive belt replaced immediately. Get it done before you break down on the side of the road.

Sputtering, Rumbling, and Rattling

If you notice sputtering, rumbling, or rattling, it’s time to get the exhaust system repaired. You also might need to have some exhaust system components replaced. Don’t wait until the system completely breaks down. Head out to the repair shop quickly before you have a serious issue on your hands.
