Performance
The 2014 Honda Ridgeline is available in four trim level options: RT, Sport, RTS, and the RTL. With just one drivetrain offering: 3.5-liter V6 engine, the truck is equipped with a 250 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. The result is a smooth and refined engine, similar to most of the other Honda V6 engine vehicles. A 5-speed automatic transmission is a standard, together with a mode just for towing a weight of up to 5,000 lbs.
Safety
When it comes to the truck’s safety rating, it has received a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS; after receiving the highest rating on its rear crash, side impact, roof crush, and moderate-overlap front crash tests. The NHTSA, however, has not yet rated the 2014 Honda Ridgeline; especially since they have revamped their crash-test safety. But as far as safety features are concerned, the truck is complete with front airbags for driver and passenger, active head restraints on front seats, and side-curtain bags on all four side windows. Other safety features include traction control, stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, and a rearview camera.
New Features
The 2014 Honda Ridgeline comes with a new dual-action tailgate that can swing down or open, depending on ease and comfort. It is a pretty handy way to access the trunk. Additionally, the truck is equipped with an in-bed trunk that can help transport weights.
A Special Edition model of the 2014 Honda Ridgeline is available and comes equipped with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels with black trimmings, as well as a black exterior trim similar to the Ridgeline Sport. Its features, meanwhile, are that of the top trim level; RTL.
With better than ever features, it’s time to test drive the new 2014 Honda Ridgeline at Brannon Honda in Birmingham.
