Regions Field is getting a new addition according to the Birmingham Barons. The newest addition, The SwitchYard on 14th, is planning to be open to the public this spring. This new, family-oriented addition will be located at the Birmingham sign on 14th Street South. The establishment will include beverages, an outside gaming area and of course food. According to Jeff Logan, the Barons owner, “Development around the city center and Regions Field has continuously been increasing. It’s amazing how much has been created over the years. It only makes sense that Regions Field would do the same and help us to take advantage of our investment. Adding The SwitchYard on 14th is the perfect plan to continue that investment.”
Regions Field: Partnerships
Regions Field partnered with both Appleseed Workshop and Macknally Land Design to design the perfect building space. This new space will house two airstream trailers – one called a Foodstream (for food) and another one called a Barstream (for drinks). The new Birmingham company Silverliner will be creating both airstreams.
Foodstream
Services offered at the Foodstream will include a menu consisting of pub-type grub with both kid and adult options.
Barstream
The name speaks for itself as it will serve a huge variety of alcoholic beverages. Of the many options available, it will feature 20 tap draft beers as well as a full-service bar. Local beers will be available, as well as many others which will regularly be rotated to create more available options.
Regions Field: Entertainment Games Onsite
To make it a true and fun family experience, many games will be available. These include ping pong tables and a bocce ball court, just to name a few. They will help to create a unique feel to the already amazing Regions Field. The external design of The SwitchYard on 14th will also have outdoor furniture and shades which will be specially designed. This will give the customer the best outdoor experience while hosting corporate gatherings, fundraisers, and private parties.
