It’s Time For The 28th Annual Red Nose Ball

Red Nose
We’ve all heard that a joyful heart is good medicine, and the dedicated team at Smile-A-Mile puts that belief into practice every day as they support children through their fight with illness. Every year, the organization hosts a special event to raise funds for their healing efforts, and you can show your support at the 28th annual Red Nose Ball!

When and Where

The ball will be held at the BJCC’s East Hall on Saturday, February 22. It will begin at 6 p.m. and run until 11 p.m. For admission info and sponsorship details, visit Smile-A-Mile’s website. The BJCC’s address is 1001 19th Street N, Birmingham, Alabama 35203.

Guests are welcome to socialize after the doors open at 6 p.m., and a seated dinner will follow at 7:30, along with the event’s program and auction. Birmingham’s own Schmohawks will play popular cover tunes throughout the evening, and dancing is encouraged if the music persuades you. The hosts will provide some complementary beverages along with dinner, and you’ll have the chance to participate in a live auction as well as a silent auction using a smartphone bidding app. A photo booth will also be open so that you can commemorate the occasion with friends. Black tie attire is optional for the ball.

The Auctions

The Red Nose Ball will present an attractive arrangement of prizes up for auction, and your generosity may be rewarded with an unforgettable trip, beautiful works of art, or one of the many other enviable items. The live auction will feature a stay for two in the picturesque Napa Valley, seven nights on the shores of Smith Lake, seven nights for a party of 12 in Martha’s Vineyard, and an exhilarating Honda Indy Grand Prix experience. Silent auction prizes include home décor, electronics, scenic getaways, and more.

Smile-A-Mile

Proceeds from this annual event go to help Smile-A-Mile carry out their various programs. For more than three decades, the organization has helped families with children facing serious illness through education programs, hospital outreach, camp sessions, and other initiatives. They promote psychological and emotional healing throughout the diagnosis, treatment, and other processes, and provide support when families need it most.
