The Birmingham, Alabama area is filled with diverse people with unique cultures. Birmingham celebrates this with various festivals and events throughout the year. There’s the Greek Festival, the Taste of Birmingham event, and more. More often than not, events held in the area revolve around food! This is definitely not a problem for all the foodies out there. After all, who doesn’t love a fun event that comes with delicious food?

In Birmingham, we celebrate our differences and want members of the community to come out and support one another. This September, you can get the chance to do just that when you attend the Jewish Food and Culture Fest!

Sponsored by the Friedman Family Foundation and sponsored by Levite Jewish Community Center of Birmingham, N.E. Miles Jewish Day School, the Birmingham Jewish Federation Update, Chabad of Alabama, Knesseth Israel Congregation, Temple Beth-El, and Temple Emanu-El, the Jewish Food and Culture Fest is an event you don’t want to miss!

The event will be held on Sunday, September 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Levite Jewish Community Center of Birmingham located at 3960 Montclair Rd, Birmingham, AL 35213. This family-friendly event is open to the entire community! The event features When Pigs Fly BBQ Cook-Off, live music, activities for kids, and food available for purchase. Whether you’re seeking to try unique food options or you want to participate in the When Pigs Fly BBQ Cook-Off, you’re certain to have an amazing time at the event. The event is also made possible by the Marvin and Ruth Engel Fund as well as the Unrestricted Fund of Birmingham Jewish Foundation.

Hours of Operation for the Levite Jewish Community Center

If you’re a member and want to participate in the various programs the community center has to offer, enjoy the pool, take advantage of the fitness group, and more, you can visit during the following hours:

  • Monday – Thursday from 5:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday from 5:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
