The Honda Pilot is one of the top vehicles on the market. This comfortable and capable SUV is known for its ability to seat eight passengers. Those familiar with the vehicle will enjoy the 2016 Honda Pilot, which features a substantial redesign and will come out later this summer.
New Colors and Trims
To give drivers even more options, Honda is adding a new trim to the 2016 Pilot. The new high trim, the Pilot Elite, will include even more features and amenities than the other trims. In addition, there are four new exterior colors to select from: Steel Sapphire Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Black Forest Pearl, and Modern Steel Metallic, bringing the exterior paint options up to eight.
Exterior Redesign
The Pilot’s exterior redesign is not limited to new color choices. The shape in the 2016 model will be sleeker with panels that are more chiseled, a tapered roofline, and window openings that have grown narrower. Even the chassis is new, adding 3.5 inches to the length; those familiar with the redesigned Acura MDX will recognize this chassis. This added length makes it easier for 3rd-row passengers to get in and out of the SUV and adds some extra arm room.
Updated Powertrain
While the 2016 Pilot will still run on a 3.5-liter V6, it is an updated version. This engine in the 2015 model achieves around 250 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque, but in the 2016 model, these numbers will increase to about 300 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. There is also a brand-new all-wheel-drive system with terrain management. Honda expects that this powerful Pilot will also have class-leading fuel economy ratings.
