Honda Introduced Civic Hatchback

Civic Hatchback Birmingham
Visit your local Birmingham Brannon Honda dealership in the near future, and you will have even more choices for configuring your Honda Civic. Most drivers are used to being able to choose from a sedan or coupe, but soon the Civic Hatchback will be returning to the lineup. There was a Civic Hatchback in the 7th generation, but this model was last on sale in 2005. The new Civic Hatchback will be introduced in 2017, but the concept vehicle has already appeared.

Civic Hatchback Debuts at the Geneva Motor Show

The official concept model for the Civic Hatchback was revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show that ran March 3rd and 4th. The model is officially denoted as a prototype, but those in the know agree that it is actually the nearly complete production model.

Civic Hatchback Styling

The concept for the Civic Hatchback is sharper and stronger than the current 9th generation models, with more sculpting, particularly in the front. Instead of the curving hood line found on the current Civic, the Hatchback has a straighter one that is mounted on a bluff face with jutting features. The rear hatch serves to emphasize distinctions between the various features, such as the boomerang lights and tailgate. The styling will probably be toned down somewhat by the time the model reaches production.

Civic Hatch Size

In terms of size, the Civic Hatchback will be 1.8 inches wider and 5.1 inches longer than the current Civic models and be 0.7 inches lower. This means it is around 1.2 inches shorter than your favorite Civic Coupe.

You will still have to wait until next year to get your own Honda Civic Hatchback in Birmingham, Alabama. The European model should arrive during the early portion of next year, and the American version will follow. In the meantime, the team at Brannon Honda can give you more information.
