Honda Accord EX vs Honda Accord EX-L

Honda Accord EX EX-L BirminghamVisit your local Honda dealership to test drive an Accord, and you will need to think about which trim level you are most interested in. Out of the five available trims, the EX sits right in the middle while the EX-L is right above it. This means that there are not as many differences between these models as those on the extremes, like the base LX and top-of-the-line Touring. There are still, however, key variations that make the EX right for some Birmingham drivers while the EX-L is ideal for others.

Accord EX

The EX-L trim builds directly on the EX trim, so it helps to get to know the features in the EX before looking at the EX-L. The Accord EX is only available with the base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. This trim has all the features of the base LX, such as a rearview camera, Bluetooth for audio and phone, a 7.7-inch infotainment display, an auxiliary audio input, a USB port, a CD player, full power accessories, LED taillights, automatic headlights, cruise control, and dual-zone automatic climate control. It also has LED fog lights and daytime running lights, heated mirrors, 17-inch wheels, keyless entry and ignition with remote ignition, and a sunroof. Comfort in the Accord EX trim comes from the 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with its 2-way power-adjustable lumbar support. Technology includes the features already mentioned as well as a 7-inch touchscreen, 6 speakers, LaneWatch, HD and satellite radio, and an extra USB port. You also get smartphone integration from Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and HondaLink.

Accord EX-L

The first thing you will notice that sets the EX-L trim apart from the EX is the engine choices. You can stick to the standard engine or upgrade to the 3.5-liter V6 with this trim. Upgrading to the V6 engine will give you paddle shifters on the steering wheel and dual exhaust tips. All other EX-L models have the features of the EX and exterior mirrors that power fold. Inside, you will notice the front seats are heated, there is leather upholstery, the passenger seat is 4-way adjustable, and the driver’s seat has memory. The rearview camera is also improved, and you get an auto-dimming rearview mirror. This model also increases the sound system to 7 speakers.
