Pathways is an organization committed to helping homeless women and children get off the streets. Every year when it gets cold hundreds of homeless people look to them for help to get through. There are always opportunities to volunteer through this organization, and they rely on people like you to make it happen. Find out how you can volunteer and what positions are open.
Personal Impact
With these volunteer positions you will have the chance to have a face-to-face impact on the guests that come to the events. You must attend an orientation before volunteering to make sure you are up to speed with the program, but once you attend this you are equipped to deal with whatever may come your way.
Pathways Volunteer Needs
Lunch is from 11:30 to 12:30 with 60 guests, and dinner is from 6 to 7 with about 20 guests. There are many areas to help out in so that service is a success. The ways in which volunteers can assist are listed below:
- Meals – Bring and serve meals for lunch and dinner.
- Kitchen Assistant – helps clean and prep food; organizes the kitchen on Monday- Friday from 1 to 3pm.
- Boutique Helper – sorts through donations and assists guests that are shopping for clothes.
- Front Desk Assistant (Women only) – signs in guests and helps direct them to where they need to go.
In Kind Drive
There is always an opportunity to partner with Pathways and have a drive to gather the items that guests need. Contact Pathways to find out how you can assist or donate.
Volunteer to Help Those in Need
There will be a lot more guests for the coming months because of the cold weather, and Pathways will need all the help they can get. Be sure to serve your community, and don’t forget to stop by Brannon Honda for all of your vehicle needs.
