The Flying Biscuit Café Is Now Open!

Flying Biscuit

The South knows a good biscuit. Grandmothers have been handing down their prized recipes for these fluffy little disks of delight for generations. And now that The Flying Biscuit Café is open in Birmingham, you may not have to dig out your recipe box and your rolling pin every time you have a craving. This breakfast-centric eatery is serving up a tantalizing menu including biscuits that might just be even better than Grandma’s – shh, don’t tell her we said so.

Breakfast All Day

The Flying Biscuit Café prides itself on more than 25 years of serving the “Best Breakfast All Day.” And its recently established Birmingham location is heating up, setting it up for the same success and award-winning acclaim it has enjoyed elsewhere. It’s the Southern roots of the place that lend it such broad appeal, with menu items underscoring some of the most delicious regional delicacies – like the iconic biscuit, of course.

But biscuits aren’t nearly all they do right at this lauded café. The musically named dishes run the gamut from light and healthy options to breakfast sandwiches, Benedicts, and a variety of egg-based concoctions. Here are a few that are well worth a try:

  • “We Are Family” Egg-Straordinary – The menu describes this popular pick as “two eggs served with our ‘moon-dusted’ potatoes, creamy dreamy grits, and a fluffy flying biscuit.”
  • “What’s Going On” Chorizo Hash
  • “Tiny Dancer” Avocado Toast
  • “Drops of Jupiter” Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes
  • “In the Midnight Hour” Chicken and Waffles
  • “Hold On Loosely” Southern Scramble

You can round out your breakfast or brunch (or breakfast for dinner) with delicious sides like chicken sage sausage, fresh seasonal fruit, and of course, those heavenly biscuits!
