Unlike its competitors, the 2014 Honda Ridgeline is available in a one-size-fits-all configuration. Complete with a five-foot-long cargo bed and four doors, the truck is capable of seating five passengers with plenty of room to spare. The question left is how good is it? Performance

The 2014 Honda Ridgeline is available in four trim level options: RT, Sport, RTS, and the RTL. With just one drivetrain offering: 3.5-liter V6 engine, the truck is equipped with a 250 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. The result is a smooth and refined engine, similar to most of the other Honda V6 engine vehicles. A 5-speed automatic transmission is a standard, together with a mode just for towing a weight of up to 5,000 lbs.

Safety

When it comes to the truck’s safety rating, it has received a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS; after receiving the highest rating on its rear crash, side impact, roof crush, and moderate-overlap front crash tests. The NHTSA, however, has not yet rated the 2014 Honda Ridgeline; especially since they have revamped their crash-test safety. But as far as safety features are concerned, the truck is complete with front airbags for driver and passenger, active head restraints on front seats, and side-curtain bags on all four side windows. Other safety features include traction control, stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, and a rearview camera.

New Features

The 2014 Honda Ridgeline comes with a new dual-action tailgate that can swing down or open, depending on ease and comfort. It is a pretty handy way to access the trunk. Additionally, the truck is equipped with an in-bed trunk that can help transport weights.

A Special Edition model of the 2014 Honda Ridgeline is available and comes equipped with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels with black trimmings, as well as a black exterior trim similar to the Ridgeline Sport. Its features, meanwhile, are that of the top trim level; RTL.
